Chief Foresman

   Chief Gregory Foresman is the 37th Chief of Police for the Williamsport Bureau of Police.  He was sworn in as a police officer on January 17, 1986. Chief Foresman was promoted to the rank of Corporal on March 17, 2000 and then promoted to Sergeant on January 22, 2001.  Chief Foresman served as a Community Police Officer for the area of Timberland Apartments on W. Edwin Street for several years and is still currently a member of the Lycoming County Drug Task Force. Chief Foresman is a veteran of the United States Army where he served overseas for several years.   Chief Foresman was appointed Chief of Police on January 07, 2008 by Mayor Gabe Campana.

CAPTAIN RAYMOND KONTZ III

Captain Raymond O. Kontz III was appointed to the Williamsport Bureau of Police on February 12, 1996.  He is a second generation police officer following in the footsteps of his father Sgt. Raymond O. Kontz II, who retired in April 1985.  Capt. Kontz was appointed Captain of the Investigative Division on January 7, 2008 by Mayor Gabe Campana.  Capt. Kontz had held the previous ranks of Corporal, promoted on September 25, 2001 and later Agent, promoted on October 24, 2005.  He had served as a Community Police Officer, D.A.R.E. Officer for the Williamsport Area School District and is an active member of the Lycoming County Drug Task Force.  Capt. Kontz is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving from 1982 to 1987.  Capt. Kontz has been honored for his service to the Bureau as The Officer of the Quarter and Year in 2005 and received a Special Merit Award from the Travelers Protective Association.

CAPTAIN MICHAEL ORWIG

Captain Michael Orwig was appointed to the Williamsport Bureau of Police on January 17th 1986.  He is a second generation police officer following in the footsteps of his father Lt. Richard Orwig, who retired in May 1981.  Capt. Orwig was appointed Captain of the Patrol Division on November 8, 2010 by Mayor Gabe Campana after the retirement of Capt. Glenn Ardrey.  Capt. Orwig has held the previous ranks of Corporal, promoted on March 16, 2000 and later Sergeant, promoted on January 22, 2001.  He has served as a Community Police Officer in the Downtown area of the city prior to being placed in charge of the C.O.P. unit.  He was a D.A.R.E. Officer for the Williamsport Area School District and has been a member of the Special Response Team since 1991 being given the responsibility as a Team Leader and now Team Commander.  Capt. Orwig is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and is now serving in the Pennsylvania National Guard.  Capt. Orwig has served in combat in both Iraq and Afghanistan receiving the Bronze Star for his service
